Committing to a juice-only diet in pursuit of an inner-health glow is a tedious way to spend a month. Here are 5 small changes you can make to your lifestyle to achieve that just-back-from-the-spa quality.
1. Drink plenty of water.
Your mother was right : Consume enough water and it will rid your body of toxins without you having to lift a finger.
2. Avoid trans-fats
These are the fats found in shop-bought cakes, biscuits, chips, softdrinks and other junk food you can live without. Check the label of whatever you are about to eat; If it contain a partially hydrogenated oil, put it down as it will almost certainly be high in trans-fats.
3. Reduce your salt intake
The easiest way to do this is to eat fresh food and refrain from reaching for the salt shaker processed foods are often high in salt, so check labels-aim for less than 120 milligrams of sodium per serve and give your kidneys a much needed break.
4. Do a little swap, instead of eating white flour-based bread or pasta or white rice, opt for a wholegrain version.
Your body will gain more nutrition from the wholegarins and the high-fibre content is a better (and more natural) way to care for your colon.
5. Get a massage
Most forms of massage work not just on your muscles but on your lymphatic system, which forms an important part of your body’s drainage system, removing harmful substances from the tissues. Improving your lymphatic system also increases your metabolism.
